However, the Italian Corriere della Sera reports that two Italian graduates also got infected on Pag.

The German media writes that the local health authorities discovered a new coronavirus hotspot. It’s been discovered in Göppingen district, north of Stuttgart, that high school graduates got infected during their vacation in Croatia, the German media reports.

Most of them don’t have any symptoms.

According to T-online.de, coronavirus has been confirmed in ten high school graduates after they returned from Croatia.

According to the Göppingen district spokeswoman, nine cases were discovered initially, and then the tenth followed. The majority of students have symptoms similar to the flu, respiratory problems such as shortness of breath, but also a taste disorder.

“They are all in self isolation,” said the spokeswoman.

Besides that, T-online.de reports that the students noticed the first symptoms after they returned from vacation. There were 15 of them on vacation, and 50 people that were in contact with them were put in 2-week quarantine.

The students were on the island of Pag, and the tourist agency specialized in party travel organized their trip.

Italian media reports that two Italian high school graduates are also infected

Italian Corriere della Sera reports that two 18-year-old girls got infected after they returned from Croatia. They were also on Pag, and a tourist agency from Brescia organized their vacation.

They had club evenings, festivals, and other events planned, and they stayed in apartments with other Italians.

According to Corriere, the group returned on August 1, and the two 18-year-olds weren’t feeling well and had an elevated body temperature. The tests were positive on COVID-19.

Everyone who traveled in an organized group is now in self-isolation, and Italian epidemiologists are trying to get hold of their contacts.

But T-online.de adds that there are more infected people who returned from other countries and German federal states.

“More and more infected people return from the Balkans”

Heinz Pöhler, the director of the Public Health Institute of Göppingen district, points out that coronavirus is currently being detected more often in people returning from the Balkans.

“This case clearly shows a risk of traveling and partying during the pandemic, and that the virus can quickly spread within a group,” Welt informs.

Croatia had 62 new cases of coronavirus on Friday.
