A LARGE whale emerged in the Velebit Channel and surprised the nearby swimmers.

Considering that the swimmers stayed in the sea, it is safe to say they were not afraid of the whale, which belongs to the second largest species on Earth.

The recording was sent to Antena Zadar by a reader.

Whales have been spotted several times this year in the Adriatic Sea. They probably get lost and then look for a way out to the open sea.

Recently, a fin whale has been filmed near Peljesac, delighting the spectators who had the chance to see it.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and less maritime traffic, numerous dolphins have also been spotted in the Adriatic Sea this year, and one of the most endangered marine animals - the sea turtle - has been recorded near Zadar.
