ATLETICO MADRID confirmed that one of the two players who has tested positive on coronavirus is Sime Vrsaljko.
The other one is an Argentinian Angel Correa, and both of them don't have any symptoms.
On Saturday, Atletico conducted the regular coronavirus testing of the players and the coaching staff and it was announced on Sunday that two football players tested positive, but they didn't want to reveal their identities, which was done today. The testing was repeated yesterday, and no other players of the club were tested positive.
"Club doctors allowed the players' identities to be revealed in order to stop the speculations, and they are Angel Correa and Sime Vrsaljko. Correa is at home in self-isolation, and Vrsaljko as well, who doesn't train with the first team anyway because he is recovering from injury. We'll especially monitor his condition since he developed antibodies a few months ago," says the official club's statement.
Atletico should have traveled to Lisbon today, where they play in the Champions League quarterfinals against Leipzig on Thursday. But the journey has been postponed for tomorrow when the entire 93-member delegation will go to Portugal, so Altetico's appearance in the quarterfinals isn't in question.
