Hungary includes Croatia on the green list of countries safe for traveling
ACCORDING TO the news classification of foreign countries by the Hungarian government, Croatia is included in the green category, which means that Hungarian residents who vacation in Croatia don't have to self-isolate or present a coronavirus test upon return to their country, said the Croatian National Tourist Board Office Director in Hungary, Ivana Erceg, pointing out that all countries are grouped into three categories: red, yellow, and green.
"The Hungarian market makes our top ten tourist markets, and I believe that the news of including Croatia in the green category will further encourage our Hungarian guests to spend their vacation in our country. So far in July, the Hungarians have made almost 30,000 arrivals, and more than 150,000 overnight stays, which is approximately 45 percent of the results achieved in the same period last year," said the Croatian National Tourist Board Director Kristjan Stanicic, pointing out that most Hungarians are staying in Vir, Crikvenica, Rovinj, Rab, and Krk.
"In a recent meeting with the owner of the company Vir Sziget, which deals with selling and renting apartments on the island of Vir, the great interest of Hungarian tourists on the island was confirmed, but also in entire Croatia. If the current epidemiological situation remains the same, the Hungarian market will retain the interest in traveling to Croatian destinations," Ivana Herceg pointed out.
The Croatian National Tourism Board said that the visit of one of the most famous Hungarian Youtubers, Magyarosi Csaba, to Croatia would certainly contribute to the increased number of Hungarian tourists. Csaba posted a video about his vacation in Croatia under the name "With a camper in Croatia: What is it like to travel abroad now?" which has been viewed more than 156,000 times so far, and two other videos on "Life in a luxury camp" and "What is tourism like now and how is returning home from Croatia?" which together achieved nearly 200,000 views.
